Kortalsk was brought up to be a soldier in Ra-ehn'gha's army.  He showed a strong skill in short and medium range combat since he started training, and was quickly placed near the top of the ranks.

He was born into the royal family, though doesn't act like it.  He's much more content to behave like a soldier than a royal.

Kortalsk, much like his sister Mia, is very level-headed and analytical.  He rarely loses his temper, and will put up with irritation for a while before finally saying something.

He specializes in short and medium-range combat.  Even out of uniform, he carries his MagSec 4 blaster pistol, which is typically strapped to his right thigh.  It has a 9-shot blaster cartridge and features two firing modes:  single and 3-round burst fire.  The blasts don't have much stopping power, and aren't very effective against larger enemies.  Despite that flaw, the high-velocity blasts have excellent piercing ability, making the weapon very effective against combat armor.

He also carries a CTR-250RL blaster assault rifle on the field, which boasts two separate weapons in one.  The primary fire is from the 32-shot blaster cartridge, supporting single, 4-round burst, or full auto fire.  The second firing mode is a small rocket launcher mounted under the primary blaster barrel, which fires up to 8 40mm high-explosive rockets.  Each one has a trajectory of up to a mile, the resulting explosions powerful enough to severely damage heavy armor.  However, there is a drawback.  Due to the instability of the rockets, automatic fire isn't possible at the current point in time.  Each rocket is fed into the chamber through a pump-action mechanism, reloading much like a shotgun.  This naturally slows the firing rate and reload time, though the soldier can easily switch between the rocket launcher and blaster with little difficulty.

When in combat, he wears his full combat armor.  Due to the engineering of magitechnology, the armor suit has a natural resistance to magickal attacks.  Though this doesn't make it impervious, it cuts down the damage taken by magick by 75%.  It is also engineered with a shield, which detects high-speed projectiles and creates a temporary force-field to deflect them.  Though this will deflect bullets and other high-velocity attacks, it doesn't register melee attacks or anything else that travels at slow speeds, such as thrown objects, or hazards such as explosions.  The armor itself is incredibly durable, and is able to withstand high-caliber bullets without difficulty if the shielding system were to fail.

The armor also provides Kortalsk with amplified speed and power, tripling both of them.  In addition to this, it also contains a beam-saber mounted under the left forearm.  When activated, a concentrated beam of magick extends approximately one and a half feet from the end of Kortalsk's hand.  He uses this in tandem with his MagSec 4 in melee and close-quarters combat.

Due to Ra-ehn'gha's intense protection of their magitechnology, the combat armor will detonate with tremendous force if a soldier is killed.  This serves as a last opportunity to injure or kill their opponent as well as an ability to protect their technology.

He is very protective of his sister and his friends, and harming them in any way is a great method of royally pissing Kortalsk off.  Keep this in mind.

One final thing.  He mates like a dragon, so if you get into bed with him, expect to be roughed up a bit.
