Yiffy International and the twin Ychans cost $380 every month to host.

At one point we had advertisements on Ychan but they never covered more than half of the hosting cost and became more trouble than they were worth. We also took donations, unfortunately about a year ago the donations simply stopped coming in. Since then I have been paying for the sites almost completely out of my own pocket. Although I have been very fortunate lately and this is not the burden it once was it is still a burden and there is no reason Ychan shouldn't pull its own weight.

Instead of loading up the twin Ychans with dozens of unpleasant adult ad-network advertisements we're going to try something new:

• One leaderboard size ad (728x90px) at the top of every Ychan page
• Only one ad per month, all the time. No rotation.
• The space costs $380USD
• The ad will be exposed to over 100,000 furries every month
• A news article will be posted introducing your campaign and thanking you for your sponsorship. The latest news story shows up on the front page of Yiffy International
• Ads are hosted on our sites and embedded without JavaScript making them less likely to be AdBlocked
• Permanent donor status on your Yforum posts and YI Profile
• We link directly to your site. Google loves that.

Furryne.ws moved to our server a few months ago and not long after that we had to pull it. Unfortunately, we never got around to explaining the situation but now that we are ready to start looking at rebuilding I have posted the gist of the story at http://furryne.ws/:

What happened to furryne.ws?
Furryne.ws moved to the Bad Karma Networks hosting platform and BKN was put in charge of development for the site. Shortly after the move, our upstream ISP notified us that a phishing page was being hosted under furryne.ws and we would have 24 hours to either remove the offending page and patch the hole or disable the domain. On further inspection it was discovered that the extent to which the security of the site had been compromised posed a risk to the other sites on the network. Making matters worse, furryne.ws was based on a very old version of a very poorly written content management system and by this time had become flooded with spam, requiring daily cleanups by hand. The decision was made to temporarily disable the domain.

Are there plans to revive furryne.ws?
Yes, we are currently assembling a new development team to rebuild the site. If you are interested in participating please drop by the Announcements forum on YI.

Why has it taken so long to get nowhere?
Ever since moving the site to its new server we had planned on rebuilding it from scratch, likely based on a different CMS or hand-coded due to the numerous security flaws. We would then import all the old user accounts and articles. Unfortunately, the development team we had assembled at the time sort of fell apart and we all became very busy with other projects.
